IRAN Threatens Strikes on West Asia Power Plants Supplying U.S. Bases

As US President Donald Trump's deadline on opening the Strait of Hormuz approaches, Iran on Monday (March 23, 2026) threatened to attack West Asia electrical plants powering American military bases.

The statement by Iran's Revolutionary Guard, a paramilitary group, represents Tehran's most recent attempt to provide an explanation for its attacks on the Gulf Arab nations.

The statement referred to Israel as a "occupying regime" and stated, "What we have done is to announce our decision that if the power plants are attacked, Iran will retaliate by targeting the power plants of the occupying regime and the power plants of regional countries that supply electricity to US bases, as well as the economic, industrial, and energy infrastructures in which Americans have shares." "Do not doubt that we will do this," it continued.

Early on Sunday morning, March 22, 2026, Mr. Trump issued a warning that if Iranian fire on shipping continues to successfully block the strait, the United States will target Iranian power plants within 48 hours.
