Anshul Kuncha, a 28-year-old Indian man from Telangana, was fatally shot in Philadelphia while working part-time as a pizza delivery executive. Anshul, who also held a job at a multinational company, had taken on weekend pizza deliveries to supplement his income.
On a Saturday night, Anshul received a delivery order to a secluded location. Upon arrival, an unknown assailant opened fire, shooting him multiple times in the head before fleeing. No belongings were taken, leading to questions about the motive behind this brutal attack. Reports mention two masked gunmen in the area at the time.
Anshul’s sister, Tanvi, described the incident as a deliberate "trap" set to kill him. She recalled that Anshul was asked to deliver pizza to an abandoned spot, where no one else was present. Tanvi also urged authorities to expedite the return of his body to India for final rites and called for justice to identify and punish those responsible.
After completing his B Tech in Hyderabad, Anshul moved to the U.S. to pursue a master's degree and later secured a job with KWC Company. The Indian Consulate in New York expressed condolences and is assisting the family.
This tragic event has deeply affected both the Telugu community in the U.S. and people in Telangana, where Anshul’s family and friends mourn his untimely death. Tanvi’s heartfelt message warns parents against sending their children to the U.S., reflecting the pain and shock the family is experiencing.
