US and Iran Reach Historic Peace Deal Framework, Pakistan to Facilitate Signing

On June 13, 2026, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a major breakthrough in the months-long conflict in West Asia. The United States and Iran have agreed on a peace deal framework, with a final text of the agreement already reached. Pakistan is now preparing for an electronic signing expected within 24 hours, followed by technical-level talks next week to finalize the details.

Prime Minister Sharif emphasized that despite ongoing misinformation campaigns aimed at sabotaging the peace efforts, the deal is real and progress is being made. He highlighted Pakistan’s active role in mediating between the two sides and expressed optimism by stating, “peace has never been this close as it is now.” His message tagged key figures including US President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary Marco Rubio, as well as Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

While the White House and Iranian authorities have not yet officially responded, Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi echoed the progress, urging the media to avoid speculation until the deal is finalized and details are officially released. President Trump also shared supportive messages on social media without revealing specifics.

Vice President Vance addressed rumors circulating about the deal, clarifying that Iran would not receive cash simply for signing and that economic benefits would depend on Iran fulfilling its obligations. He expressed confidence in the deal’s potential to reshape the region and bring lasting peace, cautioning against believing unconfirmed reports.

This agreement, facilitated by Pakistan’s mediation, marks a hopeful turning point in easing tensions in West Asia and could pave the way for a stable and peaceful future in the region.
